Smart.Light Energy and Climate Dashboard

Read-only Grafana dashboard configuration for smart lighting, energy, CO₂, weather, and insect-tracking context at Maschsee.

Developed within the Smart City Model Projects programme of the Federal Ministry for Housing, Urban Development and Building (BMWSB) as part of the HANnovativ Smart City initiative. The Smart.Light Energy and Climate Dashboard provides read-only, non-interactive web-based visualisations for a municipal smart lighting project at Maschsee. It presents selected data from the Smart.Light route, including adaptive lighting behaviour, current power, energy consumption, CO₂ savings, weather and climate measurements, wind conditions, precipitation, lightning activity, and contextual information related to insect monitoring. The public dashboard is intended for communication and overview purposes; viewers cannot select arbitrary time ranges. The dashboard makes the effects of adaptive public lighting visible and understandable for citizens, public administrations, researchers, and municipal stakeholders. It shows how needs-based lighting can contribute to energy efficiency, climate protection, reduced light pollution, and improved insect protection. In addition to energy and climate indicators, the dashboard includes links and contextual information related to insect occurrence around the lighting installations at Maschsee. This supports transparent communication about how lighting conditions, colour temperature, and adaptive operation affect the surrounding environment. The repository provides the reusable dashboard configuration and supporting documentation. It does not contain productive credentials, secret tokens, proprietary connector implementations, or direct access to live systems.
