Public Dashboards
Public website with dashboards and data stories on Konstanz city data

The “Konstanz City Data Dashboards” are a public, static website for residents. They provide data-driven insights on air quality, weather, and climate indicators and are automatically updated on a weekly basis. The dashboards are designed with data minimization in mind, use no tracking or cookies, and are optimized for mobile devices. Accessibility measures include responsive design, plain language, and screen reader support. The website is live at: https://stadtdaten.konstanz.digital
Technically, the dashboards are built with modern web technologies: data processing is done with Python, visualization with Observable Plot, site generation with the Observable Framework, and publication is automated via GitHub Actions. Data sources include LUBW (air quality), the Copernicus Climate Data Store (climate model data), the German Weather Service DWD (weather data), and the city’s own weather stations. The source code is open, licensed under EUPL 1.2, and available on GitHub: https://github.com/sgc-kn/dashboards
