NRW.Desk

NRW.Desk is a comprehensive collaboration platform developed and maintained by Information und Technik Nordrhein-Westfalen (IT.NRW) with contributions from GONICUS GmbH. The platform brings together multiple services under a single roof, including video conferencing powered by Jitsi Meet, a unified portal dashboard with customizable widgets, identity management through a Keycloak proxy layer, calendar and contacts integration via CalDAV and CardDAV, SMTP-based email notifications with S/MIME signing support, centralized feedback management with Grafana analytics, Matrix chat bots for conference creation and reminders, and gateway services for external user access. Built with a modular microservice architecture on Kubernetes, NRW.Desk allows external services to be exchanged with minimal effort through well-established protocols such as CalDAV, CardDAV, SMTP, OpenID Connect, Matrix, and SIP. The platform places significant emphasis on accessibility, adhering to Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) to ensure inclusive use across all its features.
