Kausal Watch

Kausal Watch (formerly aplans) is a sophisticated service designed for administrating and monitoring action plans, particularly environmental and sustainability initiatives. The platform provides a comprehensive admin UI for modifying action plan content and a REST API for distributing information to stakeholders and the public. Originally developed to implement monitoring for the Carbon-neutral Helsinki 2035 action plan, the system has evolved into a robust platform capable of managing complex action plans with multiple stakeholders, indicators, and reporting requirements. The system supports multi-language content management, role-based access control, comprehensive indicator tracking with goal setting, automated status updates, and flexible reporting capabilities. It integrates with various authentication providers including Azure AD, Google, and OIDC, making it suitable for government and organizational deployments. Built with Django and modern web technologies, Kausal Watch provides both GraphQL and REST APIs, making it highly integrable with existing systems and frontend applications. The platform includes advanced features like workflow management, document handling, notification systems, and comprehensive audit trails.
