Kausal Paths
A web-based platform for predicting municipal emissions and evaluating climate action measures for local authorities.

Kausal Paths is a specialized tool for modeling and forecasting future greenhouse gas emissions of cities and municipalities. The software enables local authorities to make informed climate action decisions by analyzing historical emission data and simulating the impact of various climate protection measures. With Kausal Paths, users can create and compare different scenarios to understand how various actions affect emission trajectories. This supports municipalities in developing and implementing their climate action plans and helps identify the most effective strategies for achieving climate goals. The platform is built on a robust Django web application and provides all data through a modern GraphQL API. This enables flexible integration with existing systems and the development of customized visualizations. The software supports multiple languages and can be adapted to the specific needs of different municipalities. Kausal Paths is successfully deployed by more than 40 European and North American cities, including Helsinki, Tampere, Zurich, Athens, Cork, and Krakow. The software supports various climate action frameworks and standards such as NetZeroCities, HINKU, SYKE, BISKO, and DIN SPEC, providing high flexibility and adaptability to different regional requirements.
