engagiert in Ulm – Mobile Frontend

The project originated from the Zukunftskommune@bw funding program. Between 2018 and 2021, the Digital Agenda of the City of Ulm, together with the association “engagiert in ulm e.V.” and the city's Department of Social Affairs, developed the “kurzundgut” database for short-term volunteering opportunities. The app facilitates connections between citizens who would like to engage in voluntary activities, either short-term or long-term, and organizations seeking volunteers. It supports networking and communication through an integrated messenger, an event calendar, and direct access to a wide range of volunteering opportunities. At a time when loneliness is increasingly becoming a societal challenge, civic engagement provides an important way to strengthen social participation. The platform promotes social cohesion, supports the development of connected communities, and creates opportunities for mutual support, participation, and meaningful social interaction.
