Cologne Cultivators Backend
Web application for urban gardening, street beds and community bed sponsorships in Cologne.

Cologne Cultivators is an open web application for urban gardening, street beds and community bed sponsorships. The application supports the digital recording, documentation and maintenance of garden beds as well as the exchange of knowledge and experiences in the neighbourhood. The project combines urban ecology, biodiversity, climate adaptation and community building in a digital tool for citizens, initiatives and local stakeholders. The app was created as part of the Smart City initiative un:box Cologne and is funded through the Model Projects Smart Cities (MPSC) programme. It enables citizens to adopt street beds in their neighbourhood, document their care and connect with other gardeners. Core features include an interactive map of all beds, a gamification system with points and levels, a knowledge base on plants and gardening techniques, photo documentation, watering logs, bed check-in with mini-map, public user profiles and event listings. The application is designed as a Progressive Web App (PWA) and optimised for mobile devices.
